Presented here is a 100 million year old, Mid Cretaceous
Period, Carpopenaeus callirostris fossil shrimp. It's from the sub-lithographic
limestone deposits of Hajoula, Lebanon. The shrimp measures approximately 2
inches in length (excluding the antennae) and resides on a 2.9 x 2.3 inch
limestone matrix. Like many invertebrate fossils from Lebanon this one has been
enhanced to bring out detail.
